02/08/2010

So yes, the intent here was to mislead that this guy was hunting down Ry, and then pull the switch with the deer. I think it would’ve worked better if I’d left the deer reveal to the next page, but I decided to keep it here because of the page-a-week schedule. If I put that next page, then nothing really would be happening on this page, and in a week, what had been set up here would probably get lost. So, yeah, not as good an effect, but there it is.

To answer some questions before they’re asked, and to expand on what I said about the cover, the reason he’s carrying a gun is because he’s hunting, and it’s easier to shoot from a distance than get too close. So why’s he in wolf form them? Better senses, better mobility.
Now, for his hair. He dyed his hair black in human form, not even thinking what a dork he’d look like in this form. I thought it was funny, but it wouldn’t make much sense to do on a random background werewolf, so I did it with this guy.
The strap over his shoulder is the strap of a bag, it’s not ammo. Not that I’d think too many people would see that, since it doesn’t look like belt ammo, but I thought I’d mention it just in case.

I realize the blood on the deer is a bit much. Initially, I hadn’t shown the wound at all, but since he mentioned it was wounded, it seemed best to actually show it.
And I know that I have used though bubbles in the past, but in this particular chapter, narration boxes seemed more appropriate. (Early on, I’d intended to have speech and thought bubbles as well as the narration speaking from some point in the future, but it seemed too complicated.
And yes, he probably shouldn’t speak while he’s hunting, but I think it added more to the page.

Now that I’ve grossly over-explained this page, thanks for reading and see you next week! :D

Drunk Duck

For those wondering why the FFC Drunk Duck site hasn’t been updated yet, it’s because the servers were down over the weekend. I can’t even edit the page to post about it.

This is the news post about it (Which I didn’t see until Sunday Night. Awesome.)

It was supposed to be finished already, so I’m not sure how long it’ll be down. Here is today’s Twisted Mirrors Page for those who were looking for it.

Site updates

Added some of the old features back to the site at long, long last!

If you look off to the right there, there’s a new link list labeled “ffc related” which is where I’m putting things that are…well…FFC related! Currently the info on the FFC world is back up, but I just uploaded what I had saved in my files, so it’s badly in need up updating. I will update it as soon as I get a change (Aion’s picture isn’t even in the character list!)
The first two parts of Ry’s backstory are also listed over there. Finally back online. Part 3 is actually written, I just need to get it illustrated!

The fanart page is uploaded again, but I haven’t checked it yet to make sure all the pictures are up okay, and since it’s late, that will have to be saved for another time.

I’m starting to get there! So thanks, everyone, for bearing with me, and I hope you continue to enjoy the comic!

Happy Halloween!

FINISHED!

The re-upload of FFC to PAT is complete! I went through the archives and double checked everything yesterday - and it’s a good thing I did, because one page was missing, 2 pages were switched, and half of chapter three wasn’t working (even the image files on my PC were corrupted, which is why). A quick shout-out to Vladimír Slávik for creating this file which will automatically download every page in the FFC archives, and also subsequent pages when used again later. I figured it was a good way to back up my own stuff, so I had used it, and there were copies of the missing pages already on my computer! Awesome, awesome. Feel free to download it and use it, since I don’t particularly plan on publishing FFC anytime soon, I don’t mind if you download it. The file is a .py file, though, so you’ll need to get the python software to run it. FYI.

Thus far, the site’s pretty bare as I was mostly occupied with re-uploading the comic, but since we’re on Comicpress now instead of autokeen, there’s a ton of neat new features. This blog being included is one, didn’t have to code it in, can update it right on the site - SOO much more convenient! The individual comic pages will also allow me to post author’s notes just like on DD, and will allow readers to comment on the pages, just like on DD. You can subscribe to the comic *points up* but I haven’t fiddled with that yet, so I’m not entirely sure what it entails (if it alerts you and whatnot). But the set-up for all the links is much easier here to. I think there’s more amenities as well, that’s just what I noted poking around a bit, so this here site could get pretty neat in the weeks to come. XD

WELCOME BACK!

NOTE!

THIS PAGE HAS JUST BEEN FIXED AND THE ARCHIVES ARE NOT ALL CURRENTLY AVAILABLE! I WILL BE UPLOADING NEW PAGES, BUT TO READ THE ARCHIVES, PLEASE VISIT THE DRUNKDUCK MIRROR FOR NOW!
