This isn’t really filling Katyn with confidence that they’re going to get to the ground safely. (Remember, back to page 21 – 13, Ry can’t fly while carrying another person. And with all the momentum he’d built up to catch her, they’re going pretty fast.)

If he’s slowed down their fall using his wings (kinda like a parachute) and she’s close enough to the ground that she won’t get very hurt then it makes sense he’d drop her. If he keeps holding her they’ll only fall faster and hit the ground harder. Once she’s dropped he can land on the ground safely and she might do okay too. 🙂 I’m glad he used the tree to break their fall though.
Also I’m glad the writer knew to make these two more believable. 😉 lol

Yeah, you can suspend your disbelief on some things, but not so much on others. Also, it makes the story more interesting if the characters have to remember little things like gravity.
